1) Have a section on the most recently updated ideas. Every time someone comments on an idea, it will move to the top of that list. 2) There should be a way of viewing the user list in the order of when everyone last checked in to the site. Additionally, by each name there should a number indicating some variation or combination of how many ideas and comments they submitted, or how many ideas they voted on, or how many total votes their ideas received. Most of names I clicked on had no ideas, comments, likes or dislikes. 3) There should be a section of top rated ideas submitted within the past month (or past week). None of the top ten Top-Rated Ideas are less than a month old. Recent ideas that are quickly gaining popularity can be more interesting than ideas that collected votes because of chronology. (I don't think it a coincidence that of the over 600 ideas submitted to the website, two of the top 5 ideas happened to have been among the first 20.) Another possibility is to divide the number of votes by the number of days the idea has been on the website. You may or may not want to change the criteria of the Top-Rated Ideas section, but there should be at least one section in which the better recent ideas can get a shot at attracting attention. 4) I think it would be better if the Top-Rated Ideas and the Most Recent Ideas showed more than 20 ideas at a time. My vote is for 50 or 100. More important though is that you should be able to navigate to any section of the list in one click. For example, have a links to ranges 100-199, 200-299, 300-399, etc., on the bottom of the page. 5) I think the tail end of the Top-Rated Ideas should show you the ideas which have the most negatives votes. While I wasn't in favor of making it a separate section, I think the info should be available to those interested. 6) I would cap the number of dim bulbs displayed next to an idea at one. I don't think the graphics should distinguish among the "negative" ideas. 7) Allow people to move their ideas to more appropriate section if they find one. Also, some ideas really belong in multiple sections. You may want to allow that. 8) It would be nice if in order to vote against an idea, you had to give a reason. It would also be nice if by every comment there would be a indication of whether the person voted for or against the idea. 9) I like that when you show Users who liked this idea also liked you give priority to those ideas which more of those approving users voted for over one which had a higher overall ranking. I would also give priority to ideas in the same section. Chances are someone who voted for a Sports idea would be more interested in another Sports idea than an Environmental one. 10) Top-Ten List Everyone's profile should have on the bottom two lists. One should be their list of the top ten ideas submitted by other people. The other should a list of their own ideas, in the order in which they feel they should be ranked. It is always interesting to which idea someone is most proud of. I suspect it usually won't be their most popular one. Bonus: One shouldn't be allowed to add ideas to the Implemented subcategory of Upgrade Features. We'll see if this attempt works or not A social network for couples My married friends complain that they feel like hermits, because it's hard to meet other couples to hang out with. You'd have a shared profile, which is matched with other local couples with similar tastes in movies, music, food, whatever. (related to above) - Could work for singles too. Instead of a dating site that matches people to each other, it matches people to fun activities and events. Send a bunch of singles or couples to Cocktail-making or salsa dancing class and they've got a common ground to talk about and can still enjoy even if they don't find someone.
